Sometimes when life gets crazy and busy it is hard to not get so completely wrapped up in yourself that you forget about the people around you. I try so hard to live in the moment and not let tomorrow's worries take away from today. This is easier said than done. I concentrate on all of the blessings that I have and remember that I have no room to complain because things could be so much worse.

I am so looking forward to spring and summer. A time when the grass is green and the flowers are blooming. When it is warm and sunny and I can work in my garden. I think what I love the most about summertime is the long, warm evenings. I love going for walks with my family and our dogs or going out and riding our horses. I feel like there is so much more time to get things accomplished in the summer. But, for now I will not take for granted the beauty that is winter!

Today I feel blessed to have healthy children. A friend of mine and her husband are blessed with a baby that nobody thought would have a chance.. Their baby, who is two months old now just had surgery last week to have shunts put into her brain to drain the fluid off that is accumulating. The surgery went well and their baby is recovering quickly. My friend was told by her doctor while she was pregnant that she should terminate the pregnancy because the baby's brain wasn't developing normally. The doctor said that there was fluid in place of brain matter and that the baby wouldn't survive long enough to even be born. My friend never even considered this as an option. She said I will trust the Lord and he will take care of us. Well, her baby was born with full capabilities. She can eat, breathe, see, hear, etc...all of the normal things a healthy baby can do on her own. The baby did start to have some fluid build on her brain and since it has been removed she is feeling much better again. My point is that we should never take for granted the healthy kids in our life and to trust in the Lord's way of doing things. This baby is an absolute gift from God and my friend and her husband feel overwhelmed by the joy that their beautiful baby has brought into their lives.

Today while I was home for lunch I got to see a herd of elk right outside my window. They were standing there browsing at the trees that they could reach while the snow fell gently around them. It was absolutely gorgeous and I feel blessed that I live in a place to see such amazing sights. While I love to go hunting, I very much appreciate the majesty of life.
